Quick! Fill The Hole in My Wallet!

Hey everybody! I’ve climbed out of my homework hole temporarily. I just don’t seem to have the time these days to write anything extended. But if you follow my Twitter account, you’ll see quite a few short updates about random junk, so do take a look if you’re interested. If not, throw me on some random RSS reader in some corner so that someday when I add a post you’ll notice. ;D

Alright, back to the topic. I will now show you the damage done to my wallet over the past month or so. Let’s get started shall we? I’ll probably talk a bit about each item in the picture, so if at any time you’re bored, just skip that paragraph and continue on. =]

Let’s begin with the biggest offender: the Apple iPod Touch, or as I like to call it: the iPOO. Okay, so it’s not a terrible device, but I honestly wouldn’t have gotten it if it weren’t for the fact that I wanted a new MP3 player and I also wanted decent internet access from that device. I still find the closed mentality and inflexibility of Apple products annoying.

You’ll notice that there’s a case on it. For anyone interested, it’s the NeoTouch by SwitchEasy. I’ll throw in a mini-review too. It’s a pain in the butt to install, but once on it’s quite nice. The screen protector that comes with the case is quite lame, and I didn’t use it. Anyone have any suggestions for a very good screen protector? Also, the case might be a pain in the butt to uninstall too, but if you don’t plan to remove it often, it should be fine. Ultimately, was it worth 30 USD? I’m not sure. I’m very satisfied, but generally speaking, I don’t think any case should be that expensive.

Moving on…

All but two of the manga above were bought today. One of those two was bought last week and is unrelated to the other ones. Wow, this is like one of those problems you see in school where you have to guess which one based on certain descriptions. I’ll stop being annoying here and get to the point.

I’m a Nanaka fan, and D.C. II the anime didn’t do her justice. So here I am, getting my fill through this manga. I bought the first volume way back during Winter Break. After finishing it, I told myself that I definitely had to get the next ones. After delaying it for weeks (due to studies and laziness), I finally got them! As you can see, Volume 2 is already open. I read about 1/4 of it and will probably continue after I finish this post.

Originally, I planned to only get the three volumes of D.C. II i.f. today at Kinokuniya, but when I noticed the newest volume of the Shakugan no Shana manga, I just couldn’t resist. If you’ve visited this blog in the past, you know that I’m a big Shana fan. If you needed any other indication, just refresh this site a few times and count how many Shana related banners appear up top. =] This particular volume of Shana still covers events from that were shown in the first season of the anime, namely the battle between Shana and Margery. Can’t say it’s new stuff, but it’s still a nice little read.

And lastly, we have the latest volume of Hayate no Gotoku. You know, I keep buying these, but I haven’t actually caught up on the series. I’d have to start reading from around Volume 10. xD.

There’s also something that I realized after today’s manga buying: I’m pretty picky about the book quality. For some reason, a small bent corner really bothers me. It’s kind of silly since a book will naturally attain signs of wear and tear, but I just feel like getting the best quality possible. What about you? Are you picky about quality?
